Do you have experience in social services, community organizing, or marketing, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to make a difference? Spurwink is looking for a supervisor to lead our team of recruiters in raising awareness for the need of foster families and supporting families in becoming licensed across Maine. A Family for ME is a partnership between Spurwink and Maine's Office of Child and Family Services. This position can be mostly remote, however must reside in Maine and be available to travel for meetings and events. The schedule is mostly daytime throughout the week, however, there will be times that evening or weekend work is required (with plenty of notice).

DUTIES:

  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate A Family for ME staff.
  • Ensure contract compliance and recruitment goals are met by each staff. Provide and participate in individual and group supervision.
  • Meet regularly with district and central DHHS staff.
  • Accurately track and report marketing efforts and results; analyzing outcomes to guide future marketing and planning decisions.
  • Hone and target recruitment efforts to focus on identified populations, maintaining sensitivity to customer needs and sensitivity and respect of vulnerable populations.
  • Explore and implement new and creative marketing to attract qualified candidates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree required. Experience in social services, community organizing, marketing, or relevant sales. Must have experience understanding and presenting detailed information to others, as well as public speaking and customer service experience. Supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Necessary: Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, creativity, professionalism, be perceptive, and be able to relate well to individuals within varying socioeconomic and cultural groups. This position requires considerable driving and a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
