Come join a vibrant, interdisciplinary team serving the complex needs of adults with a dual diagnosis of mental health and substance use disorder in the greater Portland area. We are looking for a collaborative, engaging, and driven Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our new Adult PNMI program, Bigelow. This is a full-time position providing individual and group substance use disorder counseling to individuals in the Bigelow program. Counselors work in partnership with a multi-faceted team of direct care recovery workers, clinicians, and other support staff.

DUTIES:

  1. Assist with intake/assessment when individuals are referred and ongoing assessment as required, including identification of physical health, behavioral health, and substance use disorder-related risk factors.
  2. Facilitate Individual Service Plan team meetings and develop a plan of care (ISP) for individuals with input from the team. Plan will include a relapse prevention plan, and a crisis plan.
  3. Oversee implementation of ISP, monitor and document progress.
  4. Provide individual and group substance use disorder counseling utilizing best practices, culturally competent, trauma-informed, and evidence-based models.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree from an accredited school. Maine state certification of at least CADC. All levels of experience are encouraged to apply!
